Artist - Frans Pourbusse the Younger 1569-1622, author of portraits and altar paintings on religious subjects. One of the leading masters of the Flemish school of the late 16th - early 17th century. The portrait depicts the military leader and statesman Alexander Farnese, Duke of Parma (1545-1592), ruler of the Spanish Netherlands.
